In this paper . the reductive dehalogenation potency of haloarenes in mathanogenic sedirnent - watersystems was divided into two classes according to the length of acclimation period and degradation rate constants during acclimation time. Based on the rnolecular descriptors and the environmental parameters, discriminant function was developed to determine the dehalogenation potency level. The main factors affecting dehalogenation courses were discussed.
